Love in Black and White

Beautiful One don't ever underestimate your capacity to love
Lies to your logic keep you doubting the truth
Acknowledge that everything and EVERYONE God made is good
Can't you see how pride and prejudice changes everything?
Kick ignorance to the curb and love with abandon.

And now is the acceptable time to love the "un-acceptable"
Never let paper walls shut out the possibilities for true happiness
Denial never helped anybody. . .

When did it occur to you Fair One that there are other options for you?
Hate is an illusion. Hate is not love's opposite: Selfishness is.
Instinct says the original lessons learned about love and life are not all true
Tell yourself the truth of it all and learn to really love with the knowledge that
Everything and EVERYONE God made is good

Put your pasts behind you taking only what you need for the journey
Embrace the beauty of what you are together
Open your hearts with the understanding that God guards the doors
Pray that as you grow to understand each other, others will also know that
Loving someone is simple, but not easy, but real love is so good. . .
Eventually and prayerfully this poem will soon be irrelevant.

H.I.S.T.O.R.Y

Historical moments happen in the present
Is there any reason for the hope we all have to fail?
Study the past & learn from it: apply its lessons now
Tomorrow is the culmination of past & present falling forward or behind
Only the ignorant & chaotic will neglect the lessons learned & yet to learn
Read the stories told in our ancestors' eyes & mark their wisdom & foolishness
Yes, history happens now & now is the time to make our best impressions on it.

Good Morning!

My son woke up this morning asking for strawberry milk. Is that an indication that he is NOT sick anymore? Things that make you go Hmmmmn. Anyway, I'm up this morning thinking about all the wonderful things that make living so worth it: Like my child asking me for strawberry milk after a night of fever, which means he must be feeling better(He is so going to school). My children and I waking up. . .period. All over the U.S. it's c-c-cold but at least most of us have somewhere to keep us warm. We should learn to say a word of thanks for living because everyday is a gift. That reminds me, go to the widget at the bottom of this blog and sign up to end teen homelessness. There are approximately 1,000,000 homeless teens between the ages of 12 and 17 years old. and over a quarter of both boys and girls in that state have experienced sexual abuse. One homeless child is too many. Think about what you have, where you are and who you are and take a moment to be appreciative. It's like the old adage says, "It could ALWAYS be worse."

Happy 2009!

Welcome to another year of resolutions, revelations, and reminiscing on what you resolved and revealed you would do this new year and last year too, I venture. I don't even make them any more. Resolutions, I mean. If I'm going to do it I'm going to do it but trying to guilt myself into it isn't going to help. That's just my opinion, though. Ok, so if you think that resolutions are a good thing feel free to tell me why. If you think resolutions are a good tool for helping us to attain a goal that we have been eying, then please also feel free to tell me why. Happy Blogging! :)
